Nurul Haque Nur, president of the Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP), has said another 1/11 changeover may occur in Bangladesh.
Referring to comments by Hasnat Abdullah, Sarjis Alam and others from the student-formed National Citizen Party regarding the armed forces, Nur, speaking at a meeting organized by the city and district committees of his party at the Barisal Press Club auditorium on Monday, said these are raising concerns about the possibility of another 1/11 changeover in the country.
"So to bridge the growing divide among the political parties, a new national dialogue is urgently needed before Eid," Nur added.
The GOP leader went on to say that fascism is on the rise in the country and that the Awami League has launched new political manoeuvres.
He warned that the absence of an elected government creates room for various conspiracies and complexities.
In this context, Nur urged the chief adviser to convene a national dialogue.
