BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that reform proposals for various sectors had already been sent to political parties and urged them to carefully review and provide their opinions to ensure collective progress.
He made these remarks on Wednesday at an iftar gathering organized by BNP at the Ladies Club in Eskaton, Dhaka.
BNP arranged the iftar event to honor leaders of various political parties and prominent figures.
Mirza Fakhrul said: “We are going through an extremely difficult time. Even though we have managed to free ourselves from fascism, we are still struggling to find the path to democracy. A democratic Bangladesh is the core aspiration of the nation.”
Emphasizing unity, Fakhrul added: "At this moment, unity is crucial. Problems must be resolved through dialogue."
He reaffirmed BNP's commitment to implementing the party’s 31-point agenda if elected by the people.
Stressing the necessity of democracy, the BNP secretary general said: "We are calling for swift elections because a government elected by the people is essential for implementing necessary reforms."
