Tarique Rahman sends Eid gifts to family of rape victim in Magura

The child's mother thanked Tarique Rahman and demanded maximum punishment for the perpetrators

BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has sent Eid gifts to the family of the child who was raped and killed in Magura.

Advocate Newaz Halima Arli, BNP’s central executive committee member and former MP, handed over the gifts to the victim’s family at their village home on Monday morning.

Dhaka South Jubo Dal’s member secretary Rabiul Islam Nayan, Magura district BNP’s joint convener Khan Hasan Imam Suja, Alamgir Hossain, and other leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations were present during the handover.

On behalf of Tarique Rahman, the gifts included new clothes, food items, and some cash.

The child’s mother, while speaking to the media, expressed her gratitude to Tarique Rahman and demanded justice for her daughter, calling for the maximum punishment for the perpetrators.

Recently, an eight-year-old girl in Magura was raped and left for dead. After receiving treatment for seven days at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, she succumbed to her injuries.

The incident sparked nationwide outrage. Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus expressed deep sorrow and condolences over her death.
