BNP Chairperson’s adviser Zainul Abdin Farroque on Friday accused Sheikh Hasina of exploiting the Rohingya crisis for financial gain.
He urged Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus to convey this allegation to the United Nations (UN) secretary general.
Farroque further claimed that Tarique Rahman and Khaleda Zia have nothing to lose in any matter.
He made these comments on Friday during a protest rally in front of the National Press Club organized by the Bangladesh Citizens’ Rights Movement.
The demonstration was held to demand an end to what they described as “India’s misinformation and propaganda against Bangladesh.”
Addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Zainul Abdin Farroque said: “If you truly cared for the people of Bangladesh you would not have supported a fascist like Sheikh Hasina. We will no longer tolerate India’s conspiracies against Bangladesh. To protect India’s interests Sheikh Hasina has turned Bangladesh into a desert. All of her misdeeds will be brought to justice on this very land.”
He further asserted: “If the next government that comes to power through this hard-earned independence establishes a fascist regime like Hasina’s we will not accept it. We will take to the streets and fight once again.”
During the event the BNP leader also demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the recent child rape case in Magura and called for immediate national elections.
