Rizvi blames relaxed mode of administration for rising crimes

He urged authorities to enforce laws and punish criminals immediately

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused the administration of a slow and indifferent attitude, which he claims is encouraging criminals to commit offenses. 

Speaking at a press conference at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Friday. 

Rizvi expressed outrage over the tragic death of the Magura rape victim. He said the people expected justice under the interim government but were instead witnessing lawlessness.

“The administration’s inaction and lax behavior are emboldening criminals in various ways,” he said.

Rizvi further criticized the ruling party, claiming that 16 years of misrule had eroded social unity. He accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of resorting to unethical means to maintain power.

He urged the interim government to enforce the rule of law immediately and bring criminals to justice.

"We strongly demand exemplary punishment for the killers of the Magura rape victim without delay," he added.

Rizvi also offered prayers for the victim’s soul and extended his condolences to her family.

Additionally, he announced that BNP has launched a nationwide campaign to document incidents of violence against women and children.

The party has also established a support cell to provide legal and medical assistance to victims.

BNP Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal and Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rafiqul Islam were also present at the press conference.
