Khagrachhari Municipality Jubo League secretary has taken shelter at sadar police station since Friday fearing a probable attack on him by the secretary of the district Awami League.
Jubo League Secretary Mohammad Jabed said he had delivered a speech in presence of Communication Minister Obaidul Qader on September 7, where he had disclosed details about the corruption, terrorism, and extortion activities being carried out by district Awami League Secretary Jahedul Alam and his family members since a long time.
He said: “Hearing the speech Jahedul Alam and his followers got angry and attempted to kill me, but luckily I escaped the attacks.”
Now Jabed has taken shelter at the police station to avoid further attacks on him.
Jahedul Alam denied the allegations against him and claimed that Mohammad Jabed had intentionally tarnished the image of his family.
Jahedul added that he will go to court to file a defamation case against Jabed.
