Acting Mayor of Barisal Altaf Mahmud is set to announce the city corporation’s 11th budget for the current fiscal today, more than 100 days behind the deadline.
Barisal City Corporation (BCC) sources said the size of the budget is likely to be around Tk3.8bn-Tk3.95bn, without imposing fresh taxes.
The BCC revised budget for 2012-13 fiscal was around Tk1.25bn, and Tk1.1bn for 2011-12 fiscal.
Acting Mayor Altaf Mahmud said the budget, prepared by a sub-committee of councillors, will be announced tomorrow noon at the Nagar Bhaban conference room in presence of the councillors, BCC and administration officials and journalists.
