There should be no election in the county without necessary reforms, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Parwar has said.
“We have clearly told the Election Commission that no election must be held in the country without reforms,” Parwar said while talking to reporters after holding a two-hour meeting with the commission led by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin at Nirbachan Bhaban on Thursday.
A delegation of the Jamaat-e-Islam, led by Parwar, attended the meeting with the EC.
The Jamaat leader said every reform will be made to hold a free and fair election.
Jamaat delegation members included AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar, SM Kamal Uddin and Yousuf Ali.
