Acting BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has called a standing committee meeting for Monday night.
According to BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, the meeting will be held at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan on Monday, with Tarique Rahman presiding over the session virtually.
Party sources indicate that the meeting is being convened in anticipation of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s upcoming medical trip.
The meeting will likely discuss party strategies and new decisions.
It is said that Begum Khaleda Zia will be directly boarded onto an air ambulance.
Party members have been advised to avoid large crowds during the process.
However, it remains unclear whether senior leaders will attend the airport to bid her farewell.
Earlier, on Sunday night, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir informed after a meeting with the standing committee members and Khaleda Zia that she would travel to London on January 7 for advanced medical treatment.
