BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam has said that the party's Chairperson Khaleda Zia will leave for London on Tuesday.
He said this to the media after emerging from Khaleda Zia’s residence in Dhaka's Gulshan on Sunday.
The BNP standing committee members, led by Fakhrul, met the party's Chairperson Khaleda Zia ahead of her London trip at around 8pm.
He said, the party men are extremely grateful to the Almighty.
By his mercy, Begum Khaleda Zia will leave for London for treatment on Tuesday night.
“All the members of the standing committee came to bid her farewell,” he said
“I spoke to her, may the most merciful bring her back to health. May she lead the ongoing struggle for democracy. We pray that her journey will be successful,” said Mirza Fakhrul.
The meeting was attended by Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Zamir Uddin Sarkar, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Salahuddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, and AZM Zahid Hossain.
In response to journalists' questions, the secretary general mentioned that Khaleda Zia has given instructions to the party men work together, work for the people and for democracy.
However, he said that there was not much discussion over politics during their meeting.
