BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said India should build a second Taj Mahal for former prime minister Sheikh Hasina in the country if it has so much affection for her Sheikh Hasina.

Speaking as chief guest at the fourth match of the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament at the Shaheed Abul Kashem College ground in Lalmonirhat on Sunday afternoon, Rizvi claimed India was “deeply saddened” by Hasina's exile and was conspiring to bring her back to Bangladesh and reinstate her in power.

The BNP leader drew comparisons between BNP chief Khaleda Zia and Hasina, reports UNB.

“Khaleda Zia endured imprisonment and stayed in the country, while Sheikh Hasina fled to India, abandoning her supporters. This highlights the stark difference between the two leaders.”

Rizvi also accused Indian media of spreading propaganda against an independent Bangladesh to support Hasina. “If India has so much affection for Sheikh Hasina, they should build another Taj Mahal for her in India.”

Addressing Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, Rizvi warned of ongoing conspiracies and urged vigilance, calling for a free and fair election to restore democracy in Bangladesh.

The BNP leader alleged that Hasina had remained in power by committing widespread killings and suppressing opposition voices. “She ran the country on her whims, orchestrated bank loots and is now directing Awami League activists to carry out terrorist activities while in exile.”

Rizvi also urged the public to remain alert to prevent the return of “fascism.”
