BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's scheduled visit to Evercare Hospital for a routine health check-up, set for Monday afternoon, has been postponed.
The decision, which was initially confirmed earlier in the day, was changed later, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said.
Dr Zahid said that Khaleda Zia was supposed to visit the hospital after 5pm for a scheduled physical examination, but the plan has been delayed.
He did not specify the reason for the change but assured that the medical check-up would take place soon.
Earlier in the morning, BNP leader Shayrul Kabir Khan had confirmed that Khaleda Zia would be taken to the hospital for routine tests following recommendations from her private doctor and the medical board overseeing her health.
However, by the afternoon, he announced that the visit was postponed, and further updates would be provided later.
The 79-year-old BNP leader has been suffering from multiple health complications, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, kidney issues, and diabetes.
She recently returned home on August 21 after spending more than a month in the hospital.
Since then, she has been treated at home. Efforts are being made to take her abroad for better treatment.
However, her personal physicians are saying that it is not possible to take her abroad as she is not in a condition to travel by plane now.
