BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that the Awami League regime used labels like militancy, communalism, and various other terms to create divisions in society to prolong their authoritarian regime.

Rizvi said: “But those divisions will no longer exist.”

He further added that to make the Durga Puja more beautiful and open, people from all communities are staying up at night to guard the mandaps, ensuring that no conspirators can achieve their goals.

The senior BNP leader was speaking to media on Saturday after visiting the Puja mandap of Jagannath Hall at Dhaka University.

Rizvi said: "In history, there have been periods like Hindu rule, Buddhist rule, and Muslim rule. Such periods can exist, but there is no particular period for festivals. A festival is a place of great unity and boundless joy."

He further said: "We must remain vigilant so that no one can destroy this space. The love that is created within us for the country, for the mother, and for women, through the unity of the Mother Goddess and the Motherland, finds its celebration in the Durga Puja."
