Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh's Dhaka Metropolitan unit has called for a protest march and rally protesting derogatory remarks made against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and to demand the swift arrest of those responsible.

The protest rally will be held at 3pm on Monday at the northern gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.

Hefazat's General Secretary Sheikh Sajidur Rahman will be the chief guest at the event.

This information was disclosed in a press release signed by Maulana Afsar Mahmood, the office secretary of Hefazat's Dhaka Metropolitan Committee, on Thursday evening.

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh's President Maulana Junaid Al Habib and Secretary Maulana Mamunul Haque stated: "The offensive remarks made by Hindu priest Ramgiri Maharaj in Maharashtra, India, against the Prophet (PBUH), along with the support given by BJP MP Nitesh Narayan Rane, have ignited anger in the hearts of devout and Prophet-loving Muslims around the world. We are struggling to find the words to express our condemnation and protest against this slander."
