Chhatra Shakti’s committee dissolved, activities suspended

‘Since the movement began, Gonotantrik Chhatra Shakti was not active under its own name’

The committee of Gonotantrik Chhatra Shakti has been dissolved, and all its activities have been suspended.

The announcement was made on the official page of Gonotantrik Chhatra Shakti on Saturday.

Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud, two advisers of the interim government, were in charge of these committees. Nahid was the central secretary-general and Asif was the coordinator of the Dhaka University branch.

When asked about the matter, the organization's convener, Akhtar Hossain, said: "Since the start of the anti-discrimination student movement, the organization's leaders and workers have participated in and integrated with this movement. 

“Since the movement began, Gonotantrik Chhatra Shakti was not active under its own name.” 

Akhtar further said, “Our two important members became government advisers, and discussions began on what the pattern of student politics would be on campuses. In this context, we decided to dissolve the organization's committees and suspend its activities. Meanwhile, I am serving as the secretary of the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee.”

He added: "The future activities of the organiztion depend on the pattern of student politics, and those who wish to take responsibility will make this decision."
