BNP Organizing Secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu has issued a stark warning, threatening to torch media outlets that publish images of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Speaking at a sit-in near the BNP office in Natore on Thursday, media reports quoted Dulu as saying that TV channels or newspapers could not publish photos or speeches of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

“We declare that if any media dares to broadcast the photos of this murderer (Sheikh Hasina), who killed students, they will be set on fire."

The BNP leader's remarks came during a demonstration organized by the district BNP, demanding the prosecution of Hasina and her associates for the killing of students and civilians.

Dulu said if the Jamaat-e-Islami could be banned for genocide, why should Hasina’s Awami League party not be banned for “killing thousands of students?”

He also accused Sheikh Hasina of conspiring to stage a counter-coup, vowing that the people and students of Bangladesh would resist any such attempts.

Dulu vowed to maintain peace in Natore, saying necessary measures would be taken to keep the district free from terror, with the support of local residents, students and journalists.
