A Jubo Dal leader from Faridpur has been expelled from the party for violating party discipline.
The Faridpur district Jubo Dal confirmed his expulsion in a notice on Sunday.
The expelled Jubo Dal member is Benjir Ahmed Tabriz. He was president of Faridpur City Jubo Dal.
The notice was signed by Jubo Dal Central Executive Committee Office Secretary Nurul Islam Sohel.
According to the notice, Benjir was expelled from the party on specific allegations of involvement in activities contrary to party discipline. “The party will not take any responsibility for the misdeeds of the expelled leaders.”
Jubo Dal leaders and activists at all levels are requested not to have organizational relations with them, it added.
Faridpur District Jubo Dal President Md Rajib Hossain said: “The party will not take responsibility for an individual’s criminal activities. Since this issue has been reported in a national daily, we have nothing to say beyond the party's decision.”
On Sunday, the Daily Manab Zamin published a news report in print and online about his extortion in Faridpur by using BNP's name."
Later, the Jubo Dal leader protested the article, giving an explanation at a press conference at Faridpur Press Club in the afternoon. That explanation could not save him in the end.
