BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the nation to remain calm.
He made the appeal on Monday afternoon after a meeting with the chief of army staff, saying the meeting had gone well.
The meeting was also attended by Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, Ganosamhati Andolan’s Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman said the country was going through a political crisis, adding that an interim government would be formed, and justice would be served for all killings.
