The Awami League's planned mourning procession for Monday has been cancelled due to a curfew.
The party had additionally postponed the official observation of the birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan confirmed on Sunday night.
A curfew was imposed indefinitely starting from 6pm on Sunday in Dhaka and other divisional cities, district towns and all city corporations.
The decision came after a meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and top security officers from the armed forces, police, RAB, BGB and other agencies.
