Different organizations, including Sector Commanders Forum-Muktijudda 71, Muktijoddha Oikya Parishad, Chhatra Sangram Parishad, Amra Muktijoddhar Santan and Gourab 71, congratulated the government for banning the politics of defeated evil forces of '71 -- Jamaat-Shibir.

The organizations issued separate statements in this regard on Thursday.

Sector Commanders Forum-Muktijudda 71 said that the International Criminal Tribunal has already termed the group as a war criminal and terrorist group.

The government alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir were involved in recent widespread anarchy and violence, it added.

Leaders of Muktijoddha Oikya Parishad called for immediate closure of business and establishments of Jamaat-Shibir.

Those business and establishments should be confiscated in favour of the government, they said.

Amra Muktijoddhar Santan President Md Sajjad Hossain and its General Secretary Rasheduzzaman Shahin in a statement said the decision to ban Jamaat-Shibir to protect the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh is very bold.

This step is an important milestone in the country's security, stability and progress, they added.
