Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim on Wednesday said no one can occupy even one inch of the soil of Bangladesh as long as Sheikh Hasina is in power.
Nasim, the lawmaker of Dhaka-8 constituency, made these remarks in a post-Eid greeting exchange program at the capital on Wednesday afternoon.
“Saint Martin’s Island is a territory of Bangladesh. Only the people of Bangladesh can live in this land. The present government's firm commitment is to protect the lives and territory of Saint Martin’s Island. This territory will not be allowed to be harmed by anyone,” told Nasim.
Addressing the ruling party leaders and activists of Dhaka-8 Constituency, Nasim said: "You cast your vote for me and elected me, for that I am grateful to you. You all worked so hard to help me win the election. I am always by your side. Inshallah, you will find me by your side in any needs.”
After exchanging greetings Nasim along with his wife and daughter attended lunch with the leaders and activists of Dhaka-8.
Awami League organizing secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, councillors of nine wards of Dhaka-8 constituency and hundreds of leaders and activists of Dhaka City Awami League and associated bodies were present at the program.
