Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address a rally organised by Awami League at the Roads and Highways Department’s office grounds in Fatikchhari upazila, Chittagong on Thursday.
The premier will also inaugurate 12 projects from the rally venue through videoconference.
It is the first time any prime minister has visited Fatikchhari upazila so far, according to district administration sources.
She will also visit Naval Academy in the port city Thursday morning.
Ahead of the prime minister’s visit, around 4000 police personnel would be deployed in the rally venue and adjoining areas. Around 1000 police personnel have already been deployed in the area, said police sources.
Another additional 1000 Armed Police Battalion members and 500 Rapid Action Battalion personnel will be deployed in the adjoining areas of the venue.
A five-tier security system will be taken in the rally venue, said AKM Hafiz Akhter, superintendent of police of Chittagong district.
