Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the BNP will have to pay for complaining to foreigners instead of the country's people.
“Those who criticize, they will do it in the country as well as abroad. Those who did not participate in the election will realize how much they have shrunken their politics. The BNP will have to suffer its consequences,” Quader, who is also the road transport and bridges minister, told journalists at the Zero point of Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni on Monday.
Regarding the upcoming upazila election, Quader said: “We are not participating in the upazila election with the Boat symbol. So we will have to be careful”
“Even though the BNP did not participate in the general election, the participation of independent candidates made it acceptable,” he added.
About the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, the minister said it elevated to six lanes now, adding that further expansion may be considered in future.
