BNP leaders, activists gather in Naya Paltan for black flag march

Leaders and activists had gathered in Naya Paltan to participate in BNP's black flag march Saturday afternoon.

The march began in front of the BNP central office in Naya Paltan at 2pm.

BNP Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam said that the black flag procession which started in front of BNP's Naya Paltan central office will go to Arambagh on the opposite side of the same road at Nightengale turn in Kakrail.

The march is organized to protest against the surge in commodity prices and to demand the release of leaders and activists including party chairperson Khaleda Zia, the withdrawal of cases, and the dissolution of parliament.

Participants began arriving in small processions, displaying black flags, banners, and festoons, while actively voicing various anti-government slogans calling for the release of Khaleda Zia.

As the day progressed, the presence of activists in Naya Paltan and its surrounding areas steadily increased, with small processions converging from different parts of the capital. The atmosphere in Naya Paltan is resonating with slogans.

In anticipation of the event, additional police have been deployed in Naya Paltan and its vicinity.

Law enforcement personnel, including plainclothes officers, have been stationed to ensure security during the program.
