The BNP has unveiled its plans for January 18 and 19 to mark the 88th birth anniversary of the party's founder, Ziaur Rahman.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, announced the programs at a press conference at the central office of the BNP in Naya Paltan, Dhaka, on Wednesday morning.
The events include a discussion program at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh auditorium on Thursday at 2 pm, and at 11am the next day, BNP leaders and activists, including standing committee members, will pay tribute to Zia at his mausoleum in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The commemoration will involve reciting Surah Al-Fatiha and laying wreaths.
Additionally, there will be newspaper supplements, nationwide posters and various activities such as meetings, discussions and the distribution of winter clothing by party members, affiliates and professional organizations.
Rizvi urged the participation of all levels of the BNP, affiliates and allied organizations in these programs.
