Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Member of Parliament (MP) from Jessore-3 constituency, has called upon everyone to elect Sheikh Hasina as the prime minister of Bangladesh for the fifth time.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established Bangladesh as a role model of development in the world. Since she took office in 2009, our per capita income has grown more than four times than what it was. At that time, electricity production was 3,000MW, which has now exceeded 25,000MW,” he said.
“Now all the work is being done in agriculture, irrigation, industrialization or production through electricity,” he said during his election rally in Noapara union of Jessore on Monday afternoon.
Commenting that those who do not follow the party's decision will be thrown into the dustbin of history, he said: "We have only one symbol, and the symbol is the Boat (Awami League’s electoral symbol). The Boat is the symbol of Bangabandhu, the symbol of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the symbol of the Liberation War, and development. Therefore, without looking anywhere else, for the next four days, we have to go door to door in the morning and evening to explain to the people that the country has developed because of the Boat. So, there is no other symbol, and everyone must vote for the Boat on January 7."
Mentioning that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes in balanced development, he said: "During this period, she has created a social safety net by arranging various allowances, including widow allowance, allowances for the destitute, old age allowance, maternity allowance, VGF card and other allowances. She increased allowances for freedom fighters, built Bir Nibas for them, and made the Ashrayan Project so that economic problems and poverty of the people can be alleviated. "
Asking party workers to ensure the Boat’s victory in the upcoming elections, he said: "Let's all unite, forget all minor differences and work together. We should go from door to door to make voters aware of our programmes and policies. The election on January 7 will be free, fair, and festive. Everyone will participate in this election."
Referring to the BNP-Jamaat's acts of sabotage, he said: "While we are carrying out development activities across the country, the BNP-Jamaat is creating havoc nationwide. They are uprooting railway lines, setting fire to buses, burning people alive, and torching government offices."
Referring to the BNP’s actions when the major opposition party was in power, he said: "Between 2001-2006, they carried out serial bomb attacks, grenade attacks, and killed political leaders. This was their politics."
Referring to the current government's development activities, he added: "Just as the nation's leader Sheikh Hasina has developed the entire country, she has also completed various development works in Jessore. She has built the dream Padma Bridge as part of the country's mega projects.”
