Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of the ruling Awami League, has said that BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman will be brought back from London to face trial in the country.
She said: “The one who is ordering from London will be brought under justice if we get elected this time. They torch buses, trains, and cars, and kill people. They have tried to kill me as well. BNP leaders who are burning people alive on the orders of Tarique will be punished. My question is what is their gain in doing these things.”
The prime minister said these while she was addressing a rally on Tungipara’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Govt College grounds on Saturday.
Referring to the conspiracies against the 12th national parliamentary election, she said that a vested quarter is trying to bring a third party to power.
“We will respond to the conspiracies against the election on January 7. So no one will dare to play with the fate of Bangladeshi people anymore,” she added.
She said that only the Awami League can sustain the development of Bangladesh.
The daughter of Bangabandhu said: "We will execute the verdict of the absconding killers of the nation's father. Despite all obstacles, those who have fled abroad will be brought back to justice."
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the people of Tungipara are her biggest strength now. She thanked them for their support all the time.
Sheikh Hasina’s parental uncle Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim MP, Sheikh Helal Uddin MP, and Sheikh Tonmoy MP were present among others in the election campaign.
