Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP has been shown a red card in the upcoming national polls scheduled on January 7.
Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has not fled the country but she is participating in polls, he said, adding BNP is now out of the election field after getting a red card.
“There is no BNP. Even if they are participating in the polls, there are 1,896 candidates in the election race. BNP has fled. They are burning themselves to death in the fire that they are playing with,” said Quader.
Comparing BNP with monsters, he said that the people do not want to see them in Bangladesh.
“If there is BNP, there will be no democracy in the country, no communal harmony, no peace and development as well,” he added.
Awami League’s general secretary Obaidul Quader said these things while addressing a rally at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa Ground organized by local Awami League.
Calling BNP as a fake political party, he said that their anti-national conspiracy should be stopped.
He also commented that playing with fire will not result well.
Quader said: "If you play with fire, you will burn yourself to death. They are more brutal than Netanyahu and the Israeli forces. What happened in Tejgaon. A mother with her baby on her lap was burnt to ashes. BNP and its terrorists did it."
Quader came down heavily on BNP for announcing a non-cooperation movement ahead of polls, posing a question how the party would wage such a movement.
"What does the BNP say now? Will it wage a non-cooperation movement? Monkey sings music, rock floats in water. It is like that. Will they wage a non-cooperation movement? It is like a carpet knight," he said.
"They (BNP leaders) are not in the final game as they have fled away. They threatened that after the election, they will fall the government. So, all should remain alert," the Awami league general secretary said.
