Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is set to contest the upcoming national election as a candidate of the ruling Awami League, has said he wants to give equal attention to cricket and politics.
He was currently preparing for the January 7 polls and planning how to develop his constituency, Magura-1, if he managed to win, Shakib told reporters on Monday after paying homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj.
In response to criticism that he was just a newcomer in the country’s politics, the cricketer said he would work equally in politics and on the field.
