BNP seeks DMP's permission for Victory Day rally

A delegation of the BNP visited the DMP headquarters on Wednesday afternoon to hand over a letter seeking permission to hold a Victory Day rally.

The delegation included Nitai Roy Chowdhury, BNP's vice chairman, and Mahbubur Rahman Khan, publicity secretary of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum.

Following discussions with DMP officials, Nitai Roy announced to the media that their planned rally for Victory Day is set to begin at 1pm from the party's office in Naya Paltan and will proceed towards the Moghbazar crossing.

He criticized the recent requirement of obtaining mandatory police permission for political programs, stating that they anticipate a response from the police authorities by Thursday.

DMP Additional Commissioner (crime and operations) Kh Mahid Uddin confirmed the matter to the media that they had received a letter from the BNP.
