  • Accuses party of conspiring against nation
Update : 07 Nov 2023, 07:55 PM

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud commented that the arrest operation will continue until the last criminal is brought under the law.

He said these things at a seminar organized by Brigade 71 at Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Addressing the situation, Hasan criticized the BNP's recent actions, accusing the party of conspiring against the nation under the guise of political activities.

He condemned their involvement in acts such as setting buses on fire and attacking hospitals, likening their actions to those of Israelis attacking Palestine.

He questioned the legitimacy of burning cars as a political program, emphasizing that their arrest would continue until every last criminal was arrested.

Hasan highlighted the BNP's violent actions against journalists during the October 28 rally, promising that those responsible would not escape justice.

He urged the public to stand against such forces, comparing the current resistance to the spirit of resistance seen in 1971.

He added: "After being elected in 1996, we made a lot of progress in bringing back the spirit of the liberation war. In 2001, the anti-independence forces again came to power with international powers. The country falls behind again. In 2008, Awami League came to power by winning the popular vote. Since then, the country has been progressing in the direction of development.”
