The Detective Branch of police has detained two joint general secretaries of Titumir College Chhatra Dal, the student wing of the opposition BNP.
Saiful Islam and Mahmudul Hasan Rafiq left their home before the evening on Monday and were detained at an undisclosed location in the capital a while later, Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP chairperson's press wing, said in a press release on Tuesday morning.
Detectives took them to their residence in Mirpur 12 at about 11pm and once again at arond 4am on Tuesday, confiscating their passports, certificates and other documents along with the clothes and shoes they had worn to a BNP rally on October 28.
Police did not respond when their flat mate, who was at home, asked where they were taking them.
