Awami League Presidium Member Advocate Qamrul Islam said BNP will not be spared under any circumstances.
“Whether they participate or not, the national elections will be held on time,” he said while taking a position in front of the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue at around 11am on Tuesday.
"There will be no dialogue or compromise with BNP,” he added.
Meanwhile, Abu Ahmed Mannafi, president of Dhaka South unit Awami League, said: "BNP is doing the same thing as the Israelis, who are attacking the people of Gaza and killing them indiscriminately. The killing of policeman Parvez, and the assault on journalists is the proof of that. They are worse than the Jews.”
Dhaka South unit Awami League Vice President Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi said Awami League leaders and activists have taken a position in every ward of the city to prevent BNP arson attacks and protect people's lives.
"If any form of anarchy is incited, we, the leaders and activists of the Awami League, will stand with the people,” he added.
Dhaka Metropolitan South unit Awami League President Abu Ahmed Mannafi, Vice President Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, and Office Secretary Riaz Uddin Ahmed among others were present there since morning.
