Vehicles torched, vandalized in Kamalapur, Kakrail

Amid the rallies of the ruling Awami League and opposition BNP and Jamaat, several vehicles have been torched and vandalized in Dhaka’s Kamalapur and Kakrail on Saturday. 

In Kamalapur, a bus, pickup truck and several rooms at the BRTC bus depot were set on fire.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence reached the sport at around 4:54pm and brought the fire under control. 

In Kakrail, miscreants set fire to a bus in front of Islami Bank Hospital at around 5:15pm.

The fire of the bus was also spreading to the electric wires above. 

As of writing this report, firefighters still have not arrived at the scene. 

Earlier in the day, three vehicles were vandalized in Kakrail as well.

Witnesses said miscreants from a procession vandalized two pick-up vans. 

The incident took place near the chief justice’s residence around 11am.

Later, they also vandalized a bus of Boishakhi Paribahan in front of the International Mother Language Institute in the area.

Police have arrested a person involved in the attack.
