At least 41 policemen were injured in clashes between Awami League, BNP and police at different places in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Of them, 22 are being treated at Central Police Hospital (CPH). Besides, 19 injured people are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Media) Faruk Hossain confirmed the matter.
Clashes broke out from Kakrail, Segun Bagicha, the chief justice's residence area, Paltan to Bijoynagar over the Naya Paltan rally.
There were intermittent clashes between law enforcement agencies and BNP supporters in the entire area. In Kakrail, the police box was vandalized and set on fire.
