Dhaka’s Nayapaltan, Kakrail areas turned into battlefields on Saturday afternoon centring clashes between BNP supporters and police which originated from Kakrail.
The clashes have spread to Segunbagicha, the Chief Justice’s residence area, Motijheel, Bijoynagar as well.

So far, at least 22 people including journalists have been reported injured. One of them was shot.
Clashes between the law enforcement forces and BNP supporters are going on in the entire area.
Police said that BNP activists carried out vandalism in front of the Chief Justice's residence. Police box was vandalized and set on fire in Kakrail.

This incident took place around 1pm. Police fired tear gas and sound grenades to disperse the attackers.
Police used tear shells, water cannons, and sound grenades to control the situation. Tear gas was spread throughout the Segun Bagicha. Panic has spread in the area due to sound grenades, smoke of tear gas.
In Shantinagar, there was a three-way clash between police, BNP and Awami League men. Shantinagar police box was also set on fire by BNP activists.
