BNP has sent a letter to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner, seeking permission to hold a mega rally in front of the party's Naya Paltan office on October 28.
The request was made in a letter signed by BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, on Saturday.
However, DMP has not granted approval yet.
On Wednesday, the BNP announced a mega rally for October 28 to press home its one-point demand to topple the government.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the program at a rally in front of the party's Naya Paltan office.
