Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and grandson of the country’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahamn, highly criticised the opposition party leader Khaleda Zia Thursday for celebrating her birthday on August 15, the national mourning day.
Joy posted on his official page on popular social networking site Facebook, “It is also really sad that Khaleda Zia choses to spend her birthday on this day every year. She has several different birthdays listed on various official documents, none of which is August 15th. What kind of person does this?”
He recalled all of his family members, who were assassinated on this day in 1975, with a special nod to his youngest uncle Sheikh Russell.
His post read, “Today I remember my family who were murdered; my Nana, Nani, uncles and their wives. One of my earliest memories is of annoying my Uncle Russell. He was only a few years older than me and I would steal one of his toys and run and hide behind by Nani. He would chase me and my Nani would scold him, making him cry. I was four years old and he was 10.”
