Police are conducting search operations by setting up a check post at Aminbazar in Savar, ahead of the of Awami League and BNP's rallies in Dhaka.
The search operation, which commenced on Wednesday morning, is being carried out on the Dhaka-bound lane in front of the 20-bed hospital in Aminbazar along the Dhaka-Aricha highway.
Various modes of transportation, including buses and microbuses, are undergoing thorough searches at the check post.
Savar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Chandra Saha said: "We are conducting this search operation as part of our routine activities. Additionally, due to gatherings of two political parties in Dhaka, we are ensuring that no one can enter Dhaka and create any unpleasant situations."
During the search operation at the check post, the police arrested two individuals who were found in possession of 64 bottles of Phensedyl. The suspects were apprehended, and legal action is currently underway against them.
