Comparing the Bangladesh Chhatra League with a phoenix bird, Awami League Presidium Member and Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has said that the associate body of the ruling Awami League is moving forward despite conspiracies against it.

He said this while addressing the 26th annual conference of Rajshahi University Chhatra League as the chief guest on Monday. The Chhatra League organized the program on the Sabash Bangladesh ground.

Liton said the Chhatra League is a student organization formed by the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The history of the Chhatra League is the history of Bangladesh, and it is like a phoenix in a fairy tale. Chhatra League will work for the students while maintaining the glory of the past, he added.

Praising Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Khairuzzaman Liton said that Bangladesh has come a long way under her leadership, and therefore some countries are envious of the success.

“We are moving forward on the path of Smart Bangladesh. This progress must be continued,”
he added.

Criticizing BNP acting chairman Tarique Zia, Liton said that the BNP top boss did nomination business from London.

Slamming the BNP, he said that polls will be held as per schedule and those conspiring to foil them will rue

Attending the program, Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain also said that student politics should be done on campus in such a way that it attracts ordinary students and urged Chhatra League men to take an oath to gain the trust of these students.

Jatiya Sangsad Whip and Awami League Organising Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan said that some of the evil friends of Pakistan want to take the country backwards to the abyss of darkness. “We will not allow this to happen in Bangladesh while the soldiers of Bangabandhu are still alive,” he said.
