After the last election, BNP wants to indulge in the evil game of 1/11 with Dr Yunus this time, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

He made the remarks while addressing a pre-rally discussion to observe Janmashtami at Palashi intersection in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

“It's not a good time. There's a demon here. The number of evils has increased. There is a threat of unrest here. We have to be careful to maintain peace in line with the advice of Shri Krishna,” he said.

“In the last 14.5 years, it has been proved that as a ruler, in politics, there is no person closer to the Hindu community than Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Hindu brothers and sisters were safe when the Awami League was there,” he said.

“Now I'm afraid. If an evil force does anything ahead of the national elections in Bangladesh, which can cause a rift in our relations with Hindus or with India. So, we have to be more careful,” he also said.

Presided over by Manindra Kumar Nath, president of Metropolitan Sarbajanin Puja Committee, the discussion was also addressed by the committee's general secretary Ramen Mondal. Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Haji Selim MP, among others.
