Samamona Peshajibi Ganatantrik Jote on Friday called for an investigation into the death of convicted war criminal and Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee.
Alliance leader and chief coordinator Saidur Rahman voiced the demand during a protest rally calling for the government's overthrow, in solidarity with the BNP’s movement.
"We demand a judicial inquiry into Pilkhana and Shapla Chattar incidents, in addition to Delwar Hossain Sayedee’s death," he said.
"Sayedee was in Kashimpur jail. He was told he would go to the hospital for a check-up. He went to Gazipur's Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Hospital first and then to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
“He looked fine exiting the car at BSMMU. He went to the cardiology department, and an Awami League member supervised his treatment. Later a video of Sayedee's death was shared by his nurse," he added.
After the rally, they marched from the front of the National Press Club and went to their central office and ended it.
