BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said no games will be allowed to be played during national polls this time.
“The government will be overthrown, if they do not step down naturally,” he said while attending a rally before Dhaka Metropolitan North unit BNP took out a procession to press home its one-point demand on Friday.
"BNP's only demand is Sheikh Hasina's resignation. The message of this demand should reach Ganabhaban, Bangabhaban," BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said.
He added that this fight is a fight to restore democracy and a fight to free Khaleda Zia.
"Awami League wants to pass this election like the ones held in 2014 and 2018. Will the people of the country allow it to happen? This Election Commission should be dissolved, and a new Election Commission should be formed,” he said,
Claiming BNP leaders and activists are being jailed using the judiciary, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said: "The movement cannot be stopped no matter how much torture, bullets and tear-shells are fired.”
He also said: "This Awami League government has destroyed all our achievements. Our judicial system has ended. They have imprisoned us through the judiciary.”
The senior leader also claimed "Around 180 million people of the country are united today. They will restore democracy and establish their right to vote. We can not be stopped.”
Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Convener Amanullah Aman was also present at the rally.
The BNP's processions to emphasize its one-point movement began on Friday afternoon at two locations in the capital Dhaka.
The two processions were organized by the BNP's North and South units.
Beginning at Suvastu Tower in Badda and ending at the Abul Hotel in Rampura, the BNP's Dhaka North parade was led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The Dhaka South unit march, which began at Kamalapur Stadium and was headed by BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, will come to an end at the Malibagh railway gate.
