Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that BNP is involved in the massive fire that took place in Dhaka's Bangabazar Shopping Complex on Tuesday.
“BNP was involved in arson attacks in the country as they have a past history of sabotage,” Quader said during an event in Dhaka on Saturday.
Referring to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Awami League general secretary said that BNP, who is known to everyone as a terrorist committed arson attacks in this country, now talks about fire.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said: “BNP's politics of making people suffer by closing and blocking various roads with 365 programs in Ramadan is anti-people politics. BNP's march is now silent, people say death march. Now the movement of BNP has gone down to the ground, there are no people in this movement.
“BNP call for the government to quit and participate in the dialogue. If the government resigns, who will participate in the dialogue? I want to know the answer to this question from Mirza Fakhrul. BNP is talking strangely,” Quader added.
He also said: “BNP's intention is to distort the election by creating anarchy and chaos. We can not force them if they don't want to participate in the election. But if they obstruct the election, we will resist. We will not leave the road until the election, we will resist the apolitical BNP.”
