Restore CG and quit: Fakhrul

Update : 07 Jul 2013, 12:04 PM

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the government to resign, as the people have shown it the sign of "no confidence" through the Gazipur City Corporation elections.

He said the ruling party should quit power now and restore the caretaker government system.

The spokesperson of the main opposition party was addressing a press conference at Nayapaltan central office on Sunday, reports banglanews.

He said the people gave their verdict in support of the restoration of the caretaker government system in the recent city corporation elections.

“As the ruling party-backed candidates have defeated in all five city election elections, they should leave power on moral grounds,” Fakhrul said.
