Awami League is such a party that it follows anyone, President of Krishak Sramik Janata League Abdul Kader Siddique has said.
“If General Niazi had been alive, if he had been brought to Awami League, they would have been loyal to him too,” the leader, who is popularly known as Bangabir Kader Siddique, made the remarks at the ninth death anniversary of MP of Tangail-8 Shaukat Momon Shahjahan on Friday.
He added that Awami League men would also follow someone if it was the killer of their father if necessary.
Regarding Deputy Leader of Jatiya Sangsad and Awami League Presidium Member Begum Matia Chowdhury, Kader Siddique said he will condemn her till his death.
“She will verbally abuse my father and I will spare her? No, I will talk about her until death,” Kader said.
He added that he also talked about Matia Chowdhury to the prime minister.
Regarding former minister for Shipping Shajahan Khan and former minister of Information Hasanul Haq Inu, Kader Siddique said: “What benefit did Awami League gain from them? You may think it was beneficial, but I do not.”
Later, talking about the opposition BNP and its recent nationwide processions, the leader said: “Half the people would have attended BNP meetings if it had not interfered. They would have carried on their three-hour meeting for 30 to 50 hours.”
Veteran freedom fighter Kader Siddique left Awami League in 1999 and formed Krishak Sramik Janata League and started anti-Awami League politics.
As the president of his party, he joined with Oikkya Front before the eleventh national election in 2018 and participated in the poll with BNP's electoral symbol but lost the election.
