The national committee of Bangladesh Awami League will sit in a meeting at Ganabhaban on Saturday.
The meeting has been called ahead of the upcoming 22nd National Council of the ruling party.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting scheduled to be held at 6pm.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader asked the National Committee members to attend the meeting while adhering to the necessary health protection guidelines.
Every member of the Awami League's Executive Parliament is also a member of the National Committee, as stated in the party's constitution.
This committee is comprised of a representative from each organizational district.
In addition, the party president proposes 21 candidates for membership. There are 180 members of the National Committee in total.
The National Committee must convene at least once annually, according to the constitution. The president, however, has the option of repeating it.
The 22nd National Council of Awami League will be held on December 24.
A new central committee will be formed through the central council.
