Gono Odhikar Parishad Member-Secretary Nurul Haque Nur has said that the ruling government has yet to understand that their time in power is coming to an end.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the meeting of the divisional representatives of the Gono Odhikar Parishad at Amtala intersection in Barisal city on Saturday afternoon.
Nur, former vice president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu), said that the current government pursued the IMF for just Tk45,000 crore loan where a leader of the Chhatra League in Faridpur alone has smuggled TK10,000 crore.
“The people of Bangladesh want freedom, as stated earlier by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Today, we wish to emphasize that they also demand freedom from Awami League,” he said.
Nur claimed that the government continues to deny the truth and does not realize that its time is up as they are addicted to power.
Nur said: “The young generation will put an end to current politics and introduce a new one to the nation.”
