Quader: No point in trying to intimidate PM Hasina

The BNP is defensive on the outside but hostile at heart, Obaidul Quader says

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said there was nothing to gain from trying to intimidate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The BNP was defensive on the outside but offensive at heart, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said during the national conference of Bangabandhu Sainik League at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KBI) auditorium in Dhaka.

“Why is the BNP on the defensive ahead of its mass rally on December 10?” he asked.

“It seems that they have come to power and Hawa Bhaban is back. They will hold victory rallies and oust the government. They have uttered such words like parrots in the past too,” said the senior Awami League leader.

The BNP had introduced vendetta politics in Bangladesh, he said.

“Ziaur Rahman started vendetta politics. The BNP is heading towards uncertainty, but Bangladesh will never be in an uncertain situation. Now the heartburn of the BNP has started because of Sheikh Hasina's developments and achievements. They are seeing the darkness of the night during the day,” added Quader.
