Faridpur district Awami League and all allied organizations held a protest march against BNP's divisional meeting in Faridpur, protesting the arson, bomb attacks and anarchies carried out by BNP-Jamaat across the country.
On Friday afternoon, the procession started from Sheikh Russell Sports Complex in Alipur and went around the city.
District Awami League President Shamim Haque along with District Awami League General Secretary Ishtiaq Arif and leaders of district Awami League and its affiliates participated in the procession.
Shamim Haque said that BNP claimed people attend their demonstrations on a spontaneous basis.
“In reality, they always use the same people. A large portion of the attendees at the Faridpur protest had also attended the first one,” he said.
“They are planning to disturb Faridpur. We will not allow BNP to instigate any sort of anarchy in Faridpur. Hand in hand, we shall fight back. We and all our affiliates are out there on the streets,” he further stated.
